Repeat your actions with the Synchronizer
The Synchronizer repeats what you do in one profile in other open profiles. You act in one browser, called the Leader, and the others, called Followers, do the same. This guide walks through setting up a session, keeping it in step and using its tools.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The Synchronizer runs on a Mac.
- The Synchronizer tab appears for owners and admins, when your build of the app includes it.
- It needs a paid plan, and your plan limits how many profiles can join one session.
Password and card fields are never repeated, and pressing paste in the Leader isn’t either. See Send text below for how to paste.
Set up a session
Section titled “Set up a session”-
Start at least two profiles. See Launch, stop and monitor profiles.
-
Go to Browser Profiles, then the Synchronizer tab. The Running table lists your open profiles.
You can also tick profiles on the Profiles tab and click Synchronize in the bottom bar. It starts any that aren’t running, and the first one becomes the Leader.
-
Click Promote to Leader on the profile you’ll work in.
-
Tick the profiles that should follow. The header checkbox ticks them all.
-
Choose a quality in the dropdown: Precise, Balanced or Scale. If the setup is more than this computer runs well in that mode, a note says so.
-
Click Start.
-
In Start synchronizing?, check the names and click Start.
Now click and type in the Leader. The Followers repeat it.
Some modes don’t repeat pointer movement. The toolbar then shows Movement off. Clicks, keys and scrolling are still repeated.
If Start is greyed out, the note beside it says what’s missing.
Read the table
Section titled “Read the table”| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Profile | The profile’s name. Click it for details. |
| Role | Leader or Follower. |
| Page | The page it’s on. |
| State | How it’s doing. See below. |
| Lag | How far behind the Leader it is. |
| Queue | How many actions are waiting. |
The toolbar counts how many are synced, and how many need a look.
| State | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Ready | Waiting to start. | |
| Launching or Connecting | Getting ready. | Wait. |
| Leading | This is the Leader. | |
| Synced | It’s keeping up. | |
| Typing | It’s typing text you sent. | Wait. |
| Lagging | It’s behind, and actions are still arriving. | Wait, or click Resync. |
| Reconnecting | It lost contact and is trying again. | Wait. |
| Degraded | It’s having trouble keeping up. | Use fewer Followers. |
| Desynced | It missed actions. | Bring its page in line, then click Resync. |
| Needs attention | It needs you, such as a dialog open on its page. | See the row’s details. |
| Disconnected | It couldn’t be reached. | It’s removed from the session. |
A row that can’t join shows why: Needs restart, Starting… or Stopping…. Restart closes and reopens that profile’s windows, and its tabs come back.
Click a profile’s name to see its State, Lag and Queued actions, and the reason for any problem.
Bring a Follower back in step
Section titled “Bring a Follower back in step”When a page doesn’t match the Leader, its actions stop lining up.
- Bring that Follower’s page in line by hand.
- Click Resync on its row.
If several are out of step, click Resync N Desynced in the toolbar.
Pause, change and stop
Section titled “Pause, change and stop”| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Pause | Nothing you do in the Leader reaches the Followers. |
| Resume | Starts repeating again, and applies your changes. |
| Stop | Ends the session. Profiles stay open. |
While paused, you can:
- Tick or untick profiles.
- Click Make Leader on a Follower, or Remove on the Leader.
A banner lists what will change when you click Resume.
During a session, the x on a row removes that profile from the session.
If this computer falls behind, the session pauses by itself and says so. Nothing is sent while it’s paused. Click Resume to go on, or Pause to change profiles.
The console
Section titled “The console”The Console beside the table has three tools. They work once a session is running. While paused, only Windows works.
Turn on Pop out to move it into its own window, on top of your browsers. Show the window brings it back to the front.
Windows
Section titled “Windows”| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show all windows | Brings the Leader and every Follower to the front. |
| Arrangement | Grid, or Leader size, cascaded. |
| Spacing (points) | The gap between windows. |
| Displays | Which screens to use. |
| Arrange windows | Applies it. A line above says what you’ll get. |
A note warns you if a grid would make windows smaller than the Leader, which can change how pages lay out. Leader size, cascaded keeps the Leader’s size.
Send text
Section titled “Send text”Type text into each Follower’s focused field.
- Under Send, choose a mode:
| Mode | What each Follower gets |
|---|---|
| Same text | The same text. |
| One line per Follower | One line each, in the session’s order. You can also paste name, a tab, then the text, to match by profile name. |
| Shuffled lines | A different line each, at random. |
| Random line | A random line. Lines can repeat. |
| Random number | A random whole number in the Range. |
- Enter your Text, or your Range.
- Set Delay between characters (ms) if you want a gap between keystrokes.
- Click Preview. A table shows what each Follower receives.
- Click Send.
Paste into every Follower puts text straight into each Follower’s focused field. Type it, then click Paste.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Open in every profile | Opens up to 10 addresses in new tabs, in the Leader and every Follower. One address per line. Click Open. |
| Replace the page | Every Follower loads this address in its current tab. Click Go. |
| Copy Leader tabs | Replaces every Follower’s tabs with the Leader’s. Pages open there now are reloaded or closed. The app asks first. |
| Close current tab | In the Leader and every Follower. |
| Close other tabs | In the Leader and every Follower. A browser’s last tab is cleared, not closed. |
A line above the table reports each operation, such as how many are done, failed or skipped.
Hotkeys
Section titled “Hotkeys”Click Hotkeys… to set keyboard shortcuts. They work while any app is in front, and they’re off until you set one. Start has no hotkey, on purpose.
You can set:
- Stop the session
- Restart the session
- Show the controller
- Show Follower windows
- Pause or resume the session
Click a field and press a combination. The x clears it. Click Save.

Section titled “Messages during a session”“Paste is not mirrored. Use Paste in the controller to send text to every Follower.” You pressed paste in the Leader. Use Paste into every Follower.
“Typing in a password or card field is not mirrored.” Type in those fields on each profile yourself.

“Restart these profiles so the Synchronizer can connect to them.” Click Restart on those rows.
“A profile closed. Open it again or untick it.” Start it again, or untick it.
“A session is already running.” Stop it first. To change profiles, Pause instead.
“The Follower has no matching element for the last click or field. Bring its page in line, then Resync.” Its page doesn’t match the Leader’s. Fix it, then click Resync.
“A page dialog is open in this Follower. Answer it on the Leader, or close it in the Follower.” A dialog is waiting on that page.
