Manage cookies, extensions, bookmarks and tabs

This guide covers what a profile carries in its browser: cookies, extensions, bookmarks, its start page and the tabs it reopens.

  1. Click the profile’s name to open its options.
  2. Click the Advanced icon on the left.
  3. Look at Cookies by site.

It shows the total cookies, how many sites they’re for, and the top sites, as of the profile’s last close. Before a profile’s first launch, it says No saved session yet.

  1. Right-click the profile and click Import Cookies….
  2. Choose a .txt or .json file.

The app tells you how many cookies it staged. They apply the next time the profile starts.

There’s no button that exports cookies on their own. To start a new profile with another’s saved session, clone it and tick Copy session state (cookies/logins). See Organize your profiles.

Extensions live in a library your organization shares. You add them to the library once, then choose which profiles load them.

Go to Browser Profiles, then the Extensions tab. It has three parts:

Tab What it’s for
My library The extensions your organization has added. Each shows its version, size and date.
Platform catalog Extensions ExitNode offers. Click Install.
Chrome Web Store Search the store. Type a name in the search bar, press Enter, then click Install.

To add your own, click Upload extension and choose an unpacked extension folder. The app says Uploaded with its name.

To remove one, click Delete beside it in My library.

  1. Open the profile’s options.
  2. Click the Extensions icon on the left.
  3. Tick or untick extensions. Each change saves straight away.
  1. Tick the profiles on the Profiles tab.
  2. Click Extensions in the bottom bar.
  3. Choose what to apply, then click Apply.

Profiles linked to a template are skipped, because the template sets their extensions. The app says how many it updated.

A linked profile shows its extensions greyed out. Change them in the template, or click Unlink. See Organize your profiles.

  1. Open the profile’s options.
  2. Click the Startup & bookmarks icon.
  3. Type one URL per line under Bookmarks. The count updates as you type.
  4. Click Save.
  1. Tick the profiles.
  2. Click Bookmarks in the bottom bar.
  3. In Add bookmarks, type one URL per line, such as https://example.com.
  4. Click Add.

These are added to what each profile already has. Profiles linked to a template are skipped.

Under Startup & bookmarks, Start URL chooses what opens when the profile starts:

Choice What opens
New tab page An empty new tab.
Previously opened tabs The tabs from last time.
Custom URL The address you type, such as https://example.com.

Persistent tabs reopen whatever you had open when a profile closed, on any device. Only the page addresses are kept, never what was typed into a page.

Set it in two places:

  • For the organization: go to Browser Settings and set Persistent tabs to On or Off. You need permission to manage profiles.
  • For one profile: under Startup & bookmarks, set Persistent tabs to Organization default, On or Off. This overrides the organization’s setting.

Exora uses one search engine for every profile in your organization. Set it under Browser Settings, Search engine.

“No extensions in the library. Upload some in the Extensions tab.” Add an extension to My library first.

“No extensions in your library yet.” The same, from the bottom bar.

“No saved snapshots yet.” The profile hasn’t opened and closed yet. See Organize your profiles.

“The start URL and each bookmark must begin with http:// or https://.” Fix the address in the template’s Browser step.

“This profile follows a template. Unlink it to change this.” Click Unlink first, or change the template.
