Use credits and set limits per member
This guide explains your organization’s shared credit balance, and how to limit what each person can spend and open.
What credits pay for
Section titled “What credits pay for”Credits are one prepaid balance for your whole organization. They pay for:
- Phone verifications. See Rent a number.
- IP risk checks past your plan’s monthly allowance, if Pay as you go is on.
Credits are separate from your plan. Buying them is a one-time payment, not a subscription.
See your balance
Section titled “See your balance”You can see the balance in three places.
| Place | Who can see it |
|---|---|
Plans and billing at exitnode.app/billing |
People with billing access. |
| Transactions in the web app | People with billing access. |
| Credits in the web app | People with the Credits level. See below. |
The Start verification dialog in the desktop app also shows what you can spend. See Rent a number.
The Credits panel shows your Balance, and how many IP risk checks you’ve used this month. Repeat checks of the same IP within 24 hours are free.
Open the Credits page
Section titled “Open the Credits page”Credits appears in the web app’s sidebar for everyone. If it’s greyed out with a lock, your organization doesn’t have access to this page yet. Contact support if you need it.
Add credits
Section titled “Add credits”Only an owner can add credits. The panel is on Plans and billing, and on the Credits page.
- Under Add credits, click a pack.
- Or type an amount under Or another amount and click Buy credits. The field shows the allowed range.
- Pay on the page that opens.
Back in ExitNode, you see “Payment received. Your credits appear here within a few seconds; refresh if the balance hasn’t changed yet.”
Pay as you go
Section titled “Pay as you go”This switch decides what happens when your plan’s monthly IP risk checks run out. Only an owner can change it.
| Setting | What happens |
|---|---|
| On | Checks keep going, at a per-check price from credits. The panel shows the price. |
| Off | Checks stop when your monthly allowance runs out. |
Set a spend limit for a member
Section titled “Set a spend limit for a member”You can cap what one person spends from the shared balance. You need the Member spend limits switch.
- In the web app, click Credits.
- Find the Member limits table. It shows each person’s Role, Spent and Limit.
- Type an amount in their Limit box.
- Click Save on that row.
To remove a limit, clear the box and click Save. It then reads Unlimited, and they can spend up to the organization’s balance.
Spent is the total that person has spent. When a purchase would take it over the Limit, it’s refused. To let them spend more, raise the limit.
A limit applies to what the person rents. IP risk checks are charged to the organization, so they don’t count toward anyone’s limit.
Limit browsers and profiles for a member
Section titled “Limit browsers and profiles for a member”These limits aren’t about money. They’re set in the desktop app.
- Click Team, then the Members tab, then the person.
- Find Limits.
- Set any of these. Leave one empty for no limit.
| Limit | What it does |
|---|---|
| Browsers open at once | How many browsers they can open by hand. |
| Profiles they can create | How many profiles they can make. |
- Click Save.
See where credits went
Section titled “See where credits went”The Credits page has a Ledger. Transactions has a fuller view with filters. See Activity and history.
Warnings on the panel
Section titled “Warnings on the panel”“Your credits balance is negative.” A purchase was refunded after its credits were used. Verifications and paid IP risk checks are paused until you add credits.
“Payments are on hold.” A payment for this organization is disputed. Credits and paid features are paused until it’s resolved. Contact support if you think this is a mistake.
