Find, filter and copy verification codes

This guide shows you where verification codes appear, and how to find and copy the one you need. ExitNode picks codes and links out of incoming mail and SMS, so you don’t have to open the message.

Codes come from your catch-all domains, your connected mailboxes and your rented numbers.

Place Best for
Verifications in the desktop app Looking through everything, with details.
The floating Codes window Copying a code while you work in a browser.
Codes in the web app Checking codes when you aren’t at the desktop app.

Codes belong to your organization, not to one profile. To tell them apart, look at the address each one was sent to.

Click Verifications in the sidebar. A number on the item shows how many arrived since you last opened it. Opening the screen clears it.

The Recent verifications group lists your codes:

Column What it shows
Type Email code, Link or SMS rental.
Verification The service, or the sender, and where it came from.
Value / status The code, or the link.
Updated When it arrived.
Actions View, and for a waiting number, a cancel button.

A message marked On this device was read from a mailbox kept on this computer. See Connected mailboxes.

This guide covers Recent verifications. The Active requests group above it isn’t covered here.

To copy Do this

A link Click Verification link. This copies it and opens it in your browser.

  • Hide it: click the x in its top corner.
  • Move it: drag it anywhere.

It opens by itself when you start a profile, unless you’ve hidden it yourself. Once you hide it, it stays hidden until you open it again.

Each card shows:

  • Who sent it, and how long ago.
  • The address or number it was sent to.
  • The code or link.
  • Copy or Copy link. The button says Copied for a moment.

The header shows idle, or how many are running. With no codes yet, it says Listening for verification codes….
